UPPAbaby Minu V3 vs. V2 – What’s New?
Here’s what UPPAbaby updated from the beloved Minu V2:
- Newborn Recline: No longer requires a separate bassinet, thanks to a near-flat recline. But I’ll be honest, I preferred the bassinet for everyday. The newborn recline is more convenient for travel!
- Taller Seat Back: Increased seat height to 21 inches, accommodating taller toddlers comfortably.
- Seat Angle: The V3’s seat isn’t quite as upright as the V2’s, which some toddlers, especially firstborns, may not love. The bumper bar was included with the V2 and is now separate for the V3.
- Improved Fold: Now even more compact, making it easier to fit into airplane overhead bins.
- Harness Adjustment: An upgraded easier-to-adjust harness.
- AirTag Pocket: Built-in pocket specifically for an AirTag, helpful for keeping track of your stroller during travel.
- Removed Back Pocket: Unfortunately, the handy back-of-seat storage pocket was removed.
UPPAbaby Minu V3 From Top to Bottom
If you’ve seen my YouTube videos, you know I’m all about details. Let’s break down everything the Minu V3 offers.
The Handlebar
UPPAbaby nailed the handlebar height. I’m 5’5, and even taller parents around 6’2 will find it comfortable to push without kicking the stroller. Plus, the handlebar grip feels premium, providing a comfortable hold even on long walks or hectic airport runs.
The Canopy
The canopy coverage is decent but not mind-blowing. Your baby’s legs might catch some sun, but honestly, that’s typical for compact strollers.
There’s a convenient peek-a-boo window to easily keep an eye on your little one. The mesh panel provides great ventilation for hot days, and I love that it secures open neatly with a clasp, preventing the wind from blowing it shut.
The Seat
Unlike the Minu V2, the seat is permanently attached to the frame, but it does come with a seat liner attached that can be removed and washed.
It’s a whopping 21 inches tall—perfect if your kid has basketball dreams and is on the tall side like my first is. It’s also wide and deep, giving toddlers and older babies plenty of room to settle in comfortably, even on longer outings. It’s comfy and easy to adjust, though not as upright as the Minu V2, which one of my toddlers slightly grumbled about.
The near flat recline is great for all ages and it includes a foot cover to make it safe for use from birth.
The padding is plush yet breathable, great for keeping your child comfy during long strolls or quick errands and I love that it is GreenGuard Gold certified. And let’s talk about the harness—it has super intuitive adjustments and no rethreading necessary. Hallelujah!
The Bumper Bar
The bumper bar is sold separately, but adjustable and removable once purchased. It’s handy, especially once your baby hits the curious “grab-everything” stage. It’s sturdy enough to support toys or snack trays, making it useful for keeping little hands busy while you’re shopping or traveling.
The Footrest
The footrest setup on the Minu V3 is well thought out for a range of ages. The adjustable calf rest offers support for younger babies just learning to sit up, while the lower built-in footrest gives older or taller toddlers a more natural place to rest their feet—rather than letting them dangle awkwardly. Both footrest areas are easy to clean and make the stroller more accommodating as your child grows.
The Brake
The Minu V3 uses UPPAbaby’s classic brake system—green means go, red means stop. It’s easy to tap with a flip-flop (or whatever shoes you managed to throw on). Some parents have had issues with this wearing over time on other strollers, but UPPAbaby has an amazing warranty on their strollers.
The Basket and Storage
The storage basket holds 20 lbs—enough for diaper bags, snacks, and toys. Plus, there’s an AirTag pocket, ensuring your stroller stays with you at Disney, not on an adventure of its own. The basket design prevents items from falling out easily, and it’s accessible from both front and back, making loading and unloading hassle-free.
UPPAbaby Minu V3 Infant and Car Seat Compatibility
The Minu V3 works with a variety of popular infant car seats, including UPPAbaby, Nuna, Cybex, and Maxi-Cosi models. You’ll need to purchase adapters separately, and there are two different kinds depending on which brand you’re using.
Bonus: the adapters fold with the stroller—huge win if you’re juggling travel logistics and don’t want to constantly remove accessories. Also, unlike the V2, you cannot remove the seat to use just the car seat—so the seat stays on no matter what setup you’re using. I personally prefer this.
UPPAbaby Minu V3 Folding, Unfolding, and Ease of Use
This is where the Minu V3 really shines. The fold is compact and smooth—one-handed, intuitive, and very manageable even while wrangling a child in the other arm. It folds down small enough to fit in most overhead bins and locks into place.
Unfolding is just as easy. There is no extra latch to mess with. Just engage the mechanism on the handle, push, and it clicks right into place. The included carry strap makes a big difference if you’re traveling solo. It’s not the lightest travel stroller, but it’s easy to carry thanks to the included strap and how evenly the weight is distributed when it’s folded.
Maneuverability & Performance of the UPPAbaby Minu V3
For a travel stroller, the Minu V3 pushes really well. It’s not as buttery smooth as a full-sized stroller, but it handles curbs, uneven sidewalks, and tight turns about as well as the other strollers in its category.
It’s responsive and stable, which makes it feel reliable for quick errands or longer city walks. Even fully loaded with a diaper bag underneath and a bigger toddler up top, it held its own without getting wobbly.
