Trying to decide what side-by-side double stroller is right for your family? Well, if fold and a newborn-ready seat are important, then these two double strollers should definitely make your list!
The Nuna TRVL Dubl and Bombi Twin are both amazing side-by-side double strollers, but come at very different price points!
In many ways, these strollers are very similar. Both have one bumper bar, spacious baskets, expandable canopies, auto-folds, are made with non-toxic materials, and are lightweight. With similar functionalities, deciding between the two can be challenging, but there are also many small differences.
So, let’s break it down to help you decide which is best for your family.
If you are new here, I am Emily, and I am The Stroller Mom. I review strollers and other baby gear on this blog and YouTube from a mom’s perspective. I am a mom of three, and what makes my reviews unique is that I use the products with my three kids to give you the details that matter most to me—and you—as moms.

How much does each cost, and what do you get?
Starting with price, this is one of the most significant deciding factors because there is a $400 price difference. Ouch! However, many parents are willing to spend more if it improves their lives. So let’s see what you get for that price:
Nuna TRVL DUBL: Priced at $900, it comes with a rain cover.
Bombi Twin: Priced at $500 (currently discounted to $450 plus my code STROLLERMOM20 stacks for $20 off), it includes a parent cup holder and a travel bag.
Both strollers include bumper bars!
Can I use these strollers with my newborn?
Both strollers are suitable for infants from birth with an infant car seat or their newborn-ready reclines, which include a foot cover that comes out from under the seat, creating a newborn nest mode.
The Nuna TRVL DUBL is compatible with all NUNA PIPA car seats without the need for adapters. At the same time, the Bombi Twin requires adapters but is compatible with various car seat brands (Nuna, Maxi Cosi, Cybex, Graco, Uppababy, Chicco, etc.), which can be purchased additionally for $25. The Bombi Twin also has twin adapters coming soon for Nuna Car Seats!
How much do these strollers weigh? Will they fit through standard doors?
The Nuna TRVL DUBL weighs 25.2 lbs, while the Bombi is slightly heavier at 28 lbs. In terms of width, the Bombi Twin is marginally narrower at 29.75 inches compared to the Nuna TRVL DUBL’s 31 inches. Both strollers are Disney-approved and fit through any standard ADA door. However, neither of these strollers fits through doorways with their parent cup holder attached. You will need to order a parent organizer instead.
I want to call attention to the fact that the Nuna TRVL DUBL has two seats of different sizes, while the Bombi Twins’ seats are the same size. I could see this as a deal breaker for some parents, but honestly, I have not minded it with my Nuna TRVL DUBL, and I have used it a fair amount with all three of my kids.
Let’s look at the Nuna TRVL DUBL and the Bombi Twin by feature!

Basket Capacity
The Nuna TRVL DUBL boasts a larger basket capacity of 22 lbs, while the Bombi Twin can hold up to 20 lbs. They are about the same size, but Nuna has better access to the basket.
Brake System
Both strollers have brakes that are flip-flop friendly and on the side (which helps you avoid kicking them while walking, especially if you’re tall or have a long stride).
Handlebar
Both strollers have decent handlebar heights, but neither has an adjustable handlebar. The canopies rest on your hands when not extended. I really don’t love this, but I just push the canopy out a little and the problem is solved!
Canopy
Both strollers have independent canopies, but the Bombi Twin offers better coverage, especially for the toddler years. This is probably the biggest downside I have found with the Nuna TRVL DUBL, apart from price. The canopy does not come down enough for toddlers, especially tall toddlers. Also, when the canopy is extended and the seat is in the most upright position, the canopy is really close to their faces.
Fold Mechanism
As you can see in this video, the Nuna TRVL DUBL and Bombi Twin both have amazing auto folds that can be activated with just the push of two buttons, and they both stand when folded.
Bumper Bar
Both strollers have a single bumper bar across that opens easily on either side. I personally do not feel this is better or worse than ones that connect in the middle.
The Nuna bumper bar doubles as a car seat adapter, which is amazing, but you will have to lift your other child out when using it with a car seat because you won’t be able to open it without removing your baby.
For the Bombi, the snack tray attaches to the bumper bar (which I love!), but when using a car seat, you will lose the snack tray option for your second child.
Seats, Buckles, & Footrests
The Nuna TRVL DUBL’s seats hold 50 lbs each, whereas the Bombi seats hold 55 lbs. Both strollers have nice upright seats, and I love the newborn reclines, too!
Both strollers feature magnetic buckles, 5-point harnesses, and no-rethread, but Nuna TRVL DUBL’s magnetic buckles are a little easier and more premium. I find it easier to tighten the straps on the Bombi. I love it when harnesses are easy to adjust because I am constantly changing which child is riding.
Both strollers have adjustable calf rests, with the Bombi Twin coming out a bit more, but the lower footrest is a little better on the Nuna TRVL DUBL.
Accessories
The Bombi Twin has better accessory options, like a snack tray and bigger wheels.
I asked Nuna if they would make a parent organizer or snack tray, and they do not plan to. I have a universal snack tray I like here that does work on the Nuna bumper bar. I also tried this parent organizer on the Nuna, but it does get blocked when the canopies are not extended.
I really like Nuna’s Travel bag, which includes an extended warranty. I have heard stories on Instagram of airlines ruining people’s Nuna TRVL DUBL bumper bars, so if you fly a fair amount, I would 100% invest in this bag.
Which double stroller is best for Twins?
The Bombi Twin is one of the best lightweight side-by-side double strollers for twin parents. It has two seats that both hold 55 lbs, newborn-ready reclines, and works with two car seats with additional adapters. Right now, they only have adapters tested for Nuna, but lots of other brands use the same style of adapter, like Cybex, Maxi-Cosi, and Clek.
Which double stroller has the better push?
I have tested both of these strollers, and because of the wheel size, the Nuna TRVL DUBL has had one of the best lightweight side-by-side pushes I have tried.
However, both the Bombi Single and Bombi Twin have really nice pushes for lightweight strollers, and for the price… it is amazing. Now, both are a little heavier, but I think it’s a worthy trade for a versatile push that can handle grass and occasional gravel.
So, which one is right for my family?
Ultimately, choosing between the Bombi Twin and the Nuna TRVL DUBL comes down to budget and what features are important to you. If you have a Nuna PIPA car seat, you may want the seamless compatibility of the Nuna TRVL on the bumper bar and the bigger basket. If you don’t, however, for the price, the Bombi is an amazing option with taller seat backs that also hold 5 lbs more in each seat, better canopies, especially for the toddler years, while still having an amazing auto fold.
The biggest downside is the Bombi’s car seat strap, but I like that it is more universal and will work with many infant car seats. Bombi said a more traditional style of car seat adapters is in the works.
