Guava Roam From Top to Bottom
If you’ve seen my YouTube videos, you know I’m thorough and cover all the details that matter most to parents. In this section, I’ll walk you through the Guava Roam crossover from top to bottom, highlighting key features that could help you decide if this is the right stroller for your needs.
The Handlebar
The handlebar is foam-covered and adjustable with three configurations. The middle setting of the adjustable handlebar is comfortable for both me at 5’5″ and my husband at 6″. The multiple handlebar adjustments ensure comfort for a wide range of heights. The parent organizer for the handlebar fits well and is the perfect spot for your water bottle.
A unique feature of this handlebar is that you can lock and unlock the front wheel with a convenient lever on the handlebar. Locking or unlocking the front wheel improves push and maneuverability on various terrains. I also like that they have the folding instructions right by the lock for quick reference.
The Canopy
I have been very impressed with the excellent canopy coverage. It has a magnetic peek-a-boo window that is held open by magnets. The canopy provides UPF protection and extends to increase coverage while remaining breathable with mesh lining at the bottom.
The Seat
I love the seat on this stroller. The straps are no re-thread, making them easy to adjust between kids or as your child grows. The materials are plush and Greenguard Gold (nontoxic), and it’s very easy to buckle. The unbuckling process is challenging as there are four buttons to press to release the buckle, but this is not a dealbreaker.
This stroller seat is for use from 6 months and up because it does not have a full flat recline. However, it can be used from birth with a car seat adaptor (more on that below). The seat is rated up to 60 lbs. Under the seat pad and handle are instructions for folding the stroller. While not the most upright seat, it is not bad especially compared to some of its competitors.
Unfortunately, there is not an adjustable footrest for smaller children. My 8-month-old’s feet hang a bit in this stroller. However, there is a nice footrest that works well for older children—my 2.5- and 4-year-olds are very comfortable in this stroller. There are also two mesh cup holders attached to the inside of the seat.
This stroller is only compatible from birth with a car seat adaptor. However, there are tons of car seat adaptor options – Britax, Nuna, Maxi Cosi, Cybex, Graco, and Chicco, to name a few.

The Fold
The stroller weighs 28.5lbs and has a 50% smaller footprint when folded than most jogging strollers. To fold the Guava Roam, move the handlebar down, lock the front wheel, and pull the red handle under the seat. It is quite compact.
There is no latch holding the stroller shut, which is a bit annoying. I hope Guava makes this update in future models! To unfold it, lift it on the sidebars, and it will open easily.
The Recline
There is a mechanism on the back of the seat that you push and pull down to recline the seat. While it is not a full flat recline, it is decent, and my baby comfortably naps in this stroller. There is an extra panel for ventilation in the back of the seat with a Velcro-attached cover. To return the seat to an upright position, pull the straps in the back and push up on the back of the seat.
The Storage
There are two cup holders on the sides of the seat, which are great for your child’s water cup. There’s a nice mesh storage pocket on the back of the seat and a zipper basket on the bottom that can hold 10 lbs. It is spacious, and the additional parent organizer on the handlebar adds some storage.
The Brake
The brake is updated from previous styles and is a toggle brake system—green for go and red for stop. I have no complaints about the footbrake. I wish there were a hand brake like other joggers, but there is a handlebar strap for safety, and my husband has no complaints when he jogs with it.
The Tires
The tires are airless. Most traditional joggers have air-filled tires, but I was pleasantly surprised with these airless tires. After using this stroller, I cannot tell the difference in push or smoothness between it and the Thule Urban Glide. It is nice not having to worry about leaks, flats, or the need to inflate tires.
The independent rear suspension is excellent. It pushed smoothly and maneuvered well through snow, mountains, dirt, gravel, and packed sand.

This stroller is only infant-compatible when using an infant car seat.

Guava Roam Folding, Unfolding, and Ease of Use
This stroller features a smooth fold. You put the handlebar in the lowest setting, lock the front wheel with the lever on the handlebar, and pull the red handle under the seat.
This stroller does not currently have a latch to hold it closed. I hope future versions will have that feature.
Opening the stroller is very simple. Just pick it up by the sides, and it will pop open.
Maneuverability & Performance of the Guava Roam
This stroller offers a smooth ride on any terrain and is made for jogging and all-terrain use. The convenient front wheel lock/unlock from the handlebar lever makes this stroller comfortable for running errands. The compact fold helps it fit in vehicles other jogging strollers would not. It has excellent suspension and maneuverability in different terrains.
