Tariffs and baby gear feel really messy right now, and even as I write this, I am at a bit of a loss…
I am a mom of three littles who helps connect parents with the BEST stroller for their family. Baby gear is so expensive, and frankly, there are too many options.
I debated whether or not to say something, but now that Nuna has increased its prices and other brands like UPPAbaby (up to $300 more on the Vista according to @threelittesdc) going public, more price hikes are likely on the horizon. That makes it a bit more pressing to buy than it was even a few weeks ago.
I shared on Instagram stories today that I’m not saying this to cause panic or pressure anyone to buy before they’re ready. But if you were already planning to purchase soon, now may be a good time to move forward.
In this post, I hope to help you navigate the situation we currently find ourselves in.

What are your options?
These price adjustments can be daunting because baby gear prices are already expensive. I understand how stressful this feels because I had my first baby during COVID, which was also an uncertain time for the supply chain. For example, my MIL was going to buy our stroller, but because her job was greatly impacted by the closures, we ended up purchasing it ourselves.
Here are some things to consider:
If you are Ready, Buy Now
If you’re planning to buy a stroller or car seat soon, consider making purchases before further price increases take effect.
Shop Secondhand
While I don’t recommend buying a car seat secondhand, this is a great option for strollers and I personally have done it many times on Facebook Marketplace and Offer Up. (Did you know I buy a lot of the strollers I review?! This is why you all shopping through my links like the ones below means so much. <3)
Ask good questions, but I think buying secondhand could be a great option.
Prioritize your Family’s Needs
Every family has different needs, which can make finding the stroller and baby gear challenging. Be realistic about your family’s lifestyle now and not just what you hope it to be. I dreamed of traveling with my first, but COVID changed that; my husband thought he would run with our baby, but schedules never worked out, and he would often go while she was sleeping. What does your life look like now? That’s the stage you should buy for.

Plan around sales: The Target Car Seat Trade-in event is coming up this month, Prime Day and the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale happen in summer, and there will be discounts on popular baby gear. How much? It’s hard to say, but just like with the tariffs, we have to work with the information we have now.
Brands that Have Already Increased or Announced Increasing Prices
Top Stroller Recommendations
Now, I would not rush to buy a Nuna stroller or car seat since their prices have already increased, but it may be a good time to buy brands that have given us advance notice, like UPPAbaby, Cybex, and Chicco. Not every brand on the list below is 100% going to raise their prices, but they are strollers I recommend a lot, and want to share them as options in case they follow suit.
Full-Size Strollers
- Baby Jogger City Mini GT2 and GT3: This is an all-terrain and compact stroller I recommend all the time! With the included adapters, you can pair it with Graco or Baby Jogger infant car Seats. While it is heavy, the push is so good.
- Bugaboo Dragonfly: Lightweight and compact single stroller with a cool fold.
- Cybex Gazelle S (going up to $899.95 Order Here)- One of my top recommendations for single to doubles. Love the built in adapters, large basket, and unique seats. Check out my full review on YouTube.
- Evenflo Shyft Intuiti+: This travel system has a lot of people turning heads.
- Joie Ginger LX: A stroller with a built-in, newborn-ready pram. The LX takes the amazing design of the Joie Ginger and improves it with a nice canopy, upgraded fabrics, and easier use.
- Joolz Hub 2: This is on my list to review and could be another lightweight more compact stroller that still has all the features parents look for like a good basket.
- Mockingbird 2.0 Single to Double: Use code strollermom to get a parent cup holder (add to cart). This was my first stroller, and it is an amazing single stroller. I love the bassinet, and the price is great. Check out my comparison of this vs the Uppababy Vista V3 on YouTube
- Uppababy Cruz V2 (going up to $899.99Order Here!): This stroller is of incredible quality, glides, and has an amazing basket. See my review on YouTube!
