Planning a Disney trip with little ones? We just got back on a trip with my 4.5-year-old, 3-year-old, and 1-year-old baby, and as you may already know, a stroller is a must-have for navigating those magical (but oh-so-long) days at the parks. Whether you’re heading to Disneyland or Walt Disney World, stroller rentals can be a game-changer for making your trip smooth and stress-free.
I just went to Disney with 12 (YES, 12) strollers, rented a Disney stroller, and researched all the best local rental options around Disneyland and Disney World. In this post, I hope to help you decide which option is best for you. I will break down everything you need to know about stroller rentals at Disney—where to rent, what to consider, and why an outside rental company might be the best choice for your family!

Option 1: Renting a Stroller Directly from Disney
Disney offers stroller rentals at the parks, and while it’s a convenient option, there are definitely some drawbacks. Not only are they hard, hot plastic with next to no canopy or storage, but they are not guaranteed until you arrive onsite at the park. This means they can RUN out of rental strollers.
We went to Disneyland in February over what should have been a slow week (spoiler alert: it wasn’t). When I went to the Disney stroller rental location, the person in front of me with two little kids in tow was told by the cast member that they were out of double strollers. Their only option was to wait for someone to return one of the double Disney strollers, but it was already 2 in the afternoon, and they were stuck renting two singles. This is not a great experience to start your trip, and this is not the only downside to renting a Disney stroller.
Pros:
- Easy to rent right at the theme park. Just grab one at the front of the park and go!
- Great option if you only need one for a small amount of time.
- You can get a replacement stroller (just keep your rental receipt) if yours gets taken.
Cons:
- Strollers must be returned before leaving the park—you may not take them back to the hotel or to another park when park hopping (at Disney World Only).
- They are expensive for what you get (the sunshade is kind of a joke).
- Hard and hot plastic design, poor canopy, and a bumpy ride, this isn’t the coziest for naps or young kids.
- Availability isn’t guaranteed, especially during peak seasons.
- Only single and double strollers are available, with no extra features like reclining seats or good storage.
Price:
- Disneyland
- Single Stroller: $18/day
- Double Stroller: $36/day
- Disney World
- Single Stroller: $15/day or $13/day for multiple days
- Double Strollers: $31/day or $27/day for multiple days
You can also buy a “cheap” umbrella stroller at the park, but this will not be great for naps and only works if you are looking for a single stroller.
Tip: If you park-hop in World, you can return your stroller at one park and pick up another at the next park for no extra charge! This can be a pro and a con, depending on whether you have a sleeping baby or lots of stuff to transport.
Option 2: Renting from an Outside Stroller Rental Company
For most families, renting a stroller from an outside company is the better option. Why? Because these strollers are way more comfortable, feature-packed, and available for your entire trip—including at your hotel, Disney Springs, and even the airport! They also have great options if you have bigger kids who need strollers with high weight capacities. A lot of these companies also have options for you to rent a rain cover and parent organizer for your trip!
Pros:
- High-quality strollers (think Baby Jogger City Mini GT, BOB, UPPAbaby, Zoe and more).
- Reclining seats, storage baskets, sun canopies, peekaboo windows, and more
- You can use the stroller anywhere, not just in the parks.
- Often more affordable for multi-day rentals.
- Free delivery and pick-up services to most Disney resorts, home rentals, and surrounding hotels.
Cons:
- You’ll need to transport it yourself on Disney buses, boats, and monorails.
- Reservations are needed to ensure availability.
- You may want to purchase insurance which can increase the cost.

Option 3: Bringing Your Own Stroller
If you already have a great stroller at home and don’t mind traveling with it, bringing your own can be a smart and budget-friendly choice. Just make sure it meets Disney’s stroller size requirements (all singles do and most side-by-sides these days):
- Must be 31” wide or less
- Must be 52” long or less
- No wagons or stroller wagons allowed (Only if you have a medical exemption)

My Mom-to-Mom Stroller Rental Tips:
- Rent early! The best strollers book up fast, especially during peak seasons.
- Think comfort. Your little one will be spending a lot of time in the stroller—choose one with a good recline, canopy, snack tray, and storage.
- Don’t forget accessories! A stroller fan, rain cover, and snack tray can make a huge difference.
- Label it! Disney stroller parking areas can be chaos. Tie a bright ribbon to your handle or use a custom name tag. Here is a video of easy ways to make your stroller stand out!
Final Thoughts: Which Option is Best?
I personally don’t recommend renting a Disney stroller. Instead, bring your own or rent from a company outside Disney. It is worth it to have a place for your little one to rest on those little legs on those long days at the most magical place on earth.
